- In place of the rack in my canning pot, I use two round cooling racks stacked on each other in the bottom of the pot. it keeps my jars from rocking on the wire of the old-style rack. It helps make placing jars much more secure when I put jars in and remove them and also gives me that noodge more space to cover the larger jars with the boiling water.
