Food Business Classes

The CCK plans to offer a five-course series of classes for food entrepreneurs. They are intended to teach the fundamentals of starting a small, food-based business and reinforce the real-world experience gained from working with CCK.  We piloted “How to Start a Food-based Business” in early 2011 and we have been offering ServSafe classes since 2009.

The series includes workshops titled “How to Start a Food-based Business: Michigan’s Cottage Food Law & Beyond,” “ServSafe: Food Safety and Sanitation,” “Business Planning for Specialty Food Products,” “Marketing: Sell Your Specialty Food,” and “Meet the Michigan Department of Agriculture – Food Licensing.”

The classes are offered based on demand.  Please email us to let us know which classes you would like to take and approximately when.
