“Summer Chef’s Club: Practicing the Art and Science of Cooking”
Mon-Wed, July 25-27, 2016
9:00 am – 3:30 pm each day
Fee: $150 (includes all materials and food costs) Scholarships available.
Chelsea Community Kitchen is excited to expand our kids programming to add something special for seventh thru ninth graders who have some kitchen experience from previous cooking classes or from cooking at home. Students will practice making food both tasty and attractive (Art), and learn some of the chemistry of cooking (Science).
On Monday participants will prepare and eat a complete meal.
Tuesday will include a farm tour, some food science experiments, and planning for Wednesday’s special meal to share.
On Wednesday, students will prepare the meal they have planned and share it with a guest.
Please bring an apron and hat (or hair tie backs for long hair), and wear closed toed shoes (no flip flops or sandals).
Bring a simple sack lunch each day.
Registration opens online and by mail on April 11.
