Chelsea Community Kitchen is a Michigan public benefit organization with 501(c)3 status, based in Chelsea, Michigan. We incorporated in the fall of 2009, after a community-based planning process and scores of interviews with people who shared our vision of communities where enthusiasm for local food helps people, the environment and the economy thrive.
CCK is active in three major areas:
→ Educating consumers about eating local and healthy
→ Providing access to education and counseling support for people who want to start or grow a food-based business
→ Connecting food entrepreneurs, educators and local food enthusiasts with kitchens they can rent
We are a “working Board” – Board members perform many staff functions as volunteers.
Chelsea Community Kitchen works with numerous community partners, including the Friends and Family Chelsea Wellness Coalition, the Chelsea Senior Center, Faith in Action, the Chelsea District Library, Michigan Friends Center.
