Educate, inform and support members of our regional community to create a healthy, local and sustainable food culture.
Our food system niche: CCK partners with organizations in our community to provide classes for the general public, including youth programs, on nutritious cooking, using fresh, local ingredients. We provide classroom and real-world education to consumers and food-business entrepreneurs to encourage use of locally grown and healthy ingredients.
We envision communities where enthusiasm for local food helps people, the environment and the economy thrive.

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN for the 2018 Kid’s Cooking After School Program:
Kids will learn basic kitchen skills as well as kitchen safety while preparing healthy foods. The theme for this year’s program for grades 1-3 is “Warm Winter Foods” where participants will make healthy versions of classic winter dishes. Grades 4-6 will focus on “Soups and Such”, making a variety of soups, stews and breads. The class sessions are a hands-on learning experience working in small groups to prepare new recipes.
ServSafe Food Manager Certification Class: February 5th, 9 – 5 pm at 128 Park St. This is an eight hour self-study review class that helps you fulfill the Michigan Food Law requirement to have a manager certified in food safety in each food service establishment. Register now.
